Resolution 1-11

Resolution 1-11 or (Res. 1-11, Resolution of the First Judicial Congress, Number 11) was a legislative resolution passed by the 1st Judicial Congress that established the Department of Justice along with the Cabinet position "Attorney General". This resolution was along with Res. 1-8, which established the Department of Development. The bill was passed by the Judicial Congress on January 28th and signed into law by President BBLB_YT on January 29th, 2022.

On February 1st, 2022, President BBLB_YT appointed the first Attorney General, GodspeedAssassin, who was confirmed on January 2nd.

Res. 1-11 was partially amended in the Crimes Act of January 2022.

Text

An act for the enforcement of law and justice, henceforth, the establishment of the Department of Justice.

DEFINITIONS: 1.18 Asian SMP shall be referred to as "the SMP". The Department of Justice shall be referred to as "the Department".

ESTABLISHMENT

Let it be enacted, with the Judicial Congress assembled, that there shall be an Executive department, the Department of Justice, and that there shall be a head officer therein, to be called the Attorney General, who shall perform and execute such duties entrusted to them by the President of the SMP, Judicial Congress, committees, or instructions of or from the players.
The head officer shall be appointed by the President of the SMP with the advice and consent of the Judicial Congress.

DUTIES

The Department shall enforce the laws of the SMP.
The Department shall prosecute and charge all offenders of the SMP.
The Department shall be responsible for preventing and controlling crime and seek punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior (under the guidance of the President and the Jury).
The Department shall uphold equal justice for all players.
Lawsuits shall be filed using the Department.
The Department shall bear the responsibility of holding and reporting filed lawsuits and charges.
The Attorney General shall prosecute and conduct all suits in the Judicial Congress in which the SMP shall be concerned, and to give their advice and opinion upon questions of law when required by the President of the SMP, or when requested by the heads of any of the departments, touching any matters that may concern their departments.
The Attorney General shall be the head of the prosecuting team during criminal trials.
The Attorney General shall be the head lawyer of the SMP government.
The Attorney General shall report to the President and Governor often (data, intel, lawsuits).
The Attorney General shall yield rent and fee payments to the Treasury department.
The Attorney General shall have the power to launch criminal and general investigations and probes (at their, President's, or court's request).
The Attorney General shall formally announce policy and investigation information.
