Judicial Congress of the SMP

The Judicial Congress of the SMP (or Continential Court) was the legislature and judiciary of the central government of the 3rd Asian SMP, comprising a unicameral body. The Judicial Congress met in the Asian SMP Capitol in Spawn. Members (the Jury) were chosen through block voting, though vacancies may be filled by President's appointment.

The sitting of a Judicial Congress (or Jury) is for a 35-day term; the final Congress was the 4th. Elections were held 7 days before terms expire. The members of the Jury of the Judicial Congress were elected for the 35-day term of a Congress.

Article One of the 3rd Asian SMP Constitution required candidates/Jours must attain at least 2 weeks from whitelisting, Jours couldn't be the incumbent/elect President or Vice President, or players who have been convicted with High Crime(s).

The Judicial Congress was created by the Constitution of the SMP and first met on January 1, 2022. Although not legally mandated or encouraged, some members might be affiliated with one political party or faction.

Opening week

The 1st Judicial Congress convened on January 1st at 1:30 and established member conduct rules and adopted the first law under the new government, the 1st Whitelisting Act.

Early Asian SMP arc

After passing the 1st Whitelisting Act, the 1st Congress met 8 more times. They passed major legislation including world-progression laws like the Nether Act, additional whitelisting acts, the Spawn Act of Jan. 2022, and laws that established two new executive departments, the Justice Department and Development Department. Also during this Congress, the Capitol Explosion occurred, on January 8th, 2022.

The 1st Governor of the Judicial Congress, Pickyman, assumed office on January 1st, 2022.
